February 9, 2009Michigan landed an outstanding class of 2009 haul ... now the Wolverines are making more progress in their class of 2010 efforts. Canton (Ohio) South standout Jerald Robinson will add to U-M's already impressive receiver haul when he pledges for the Wolverines today.
Canton South head coach Moe Daniska confirmed Robinson (6-3, 185) would join Ricardo Miller and Jeremy Jackson on Michigan's commitment list.
"He's always been a Michigan fan. He was hoping either Michigan, Ohio State or Michigan State - those were his top three choices - would offer. I think when Michigan was the first to offer, he just felt that it was the right move."
Robinson notched 34 catches for 756 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior and 56 tackles, seven interceptions and 11 pass break-ups at safety. He also forced and recovered two fumbles.
But Robinson, on Rivals.com's list of 250 juniors to watch, should excel on offense at the next level, said Daniska.
"He's one of our go to guys. He was one of only three starters we had go both ways," said Daniska. "He's a good size kid, about 6-2, 185 pounds, was a playmaker and differnce maker for us.
"He has good hands, good speed, goes up and attacks and gets the football. That's what separates him from a lot of guys."
