One of the greatest in-state rivalries will resume on Saturday. No. 16 Kansas (19-5; 8-1), coming off its first conference loss of the season, travels to Manhattan, Kan., to battle Kansas State (17-7; 6-4) at 2:30 CST. When these two teams first hooked up back on January 13, the Jayhawks cruised past the Wildcats, 87-71. This time around, Bill Self and Kansa, who scored the games first 18-points in Allen Fieldhouse, expect a much closer contest.
And with that, the Sunflower Showdown takes center stage. For Kansas fans, that's definitely good news. On Monday night, the Jayhawks traveled to Columbia, Mo., having won eight straight games. Leading by 14-points at the half and seven points late in the game, it looked like Self's squad would improve their winning streak to nine.
