June 25, 2009Rivals 100 and quarterback Joe Boisture of Saline High School has decided to play his college football closer to home. SpartanMag.com caught up with the Army All-American and got some information on his decision to change his pledge from Boston College to Michigan State.
After a swirl of rumors on the SpartanMag.com Underground Bunker Message Board, we caught up with Boisture to set the record straight.
We asked Joe if he was still a verbal commitment to Boston College or had he changed his pledge to Michigan State?
Boisture's response was simple and to the point
"I am a Spartan," he said.
Those close to Boisture's recruitment had thought that a switch was possible as Boisture is very close to his family. In addition to his parents, both of his sisters attend college at Bowling Green University.
We asked Boisture what the deciding factor was and he confirmed the above assesment.
"I love everything about Boston College," Boisture said. "It just came down to distance and family. I always grew up a Michigan State fan. My grandfather coached there. I love it at State."
Boisture informed us that he had already let the Boston College staff know of his intentions. It is not a surprise that Boisture handled the switch in a professional manner, due to the fact that he comes from a successful football family.
Boisture becomes the 6th member of the Spartan 2010 recruiting class. He is rated a 4-star recruit and the #4 pro-style quarterback in the nation by Rivals.com.
Another positive factor in Boisture's recruitment is that he will graduate from Saline High School in December and be able to enroll at Michigan State in January.
