Scouting Reports

The good: Hall has an excellent combination of size, toughness and quickness along with the ball instincts and agility to match up in man coverage. He is among the highest rated defensive players and could be the second defensive back selected. He matches up best with big receivers, allowing him to use his size and agility. He has the makeup of a big, fluid physical shutdown corner with further development. He has fine closing speed when he plays with good technique and awareness. He has good playing strength that he uses well to tackle and he will win most jump ball situations with a nice reach and fine leaping ability. He can run deep with a receiver with the ability to jump and make a play on the ball.

The bad: His speed has been questioned – especially in the deep game. That lack of coverage speed was exploited in matchups against Ohio State's Ted Ginn Jr. and the Southern Cal receivers. He also overreacts to pump fakes or double moves – especially by smaller, quicker receivers – and can get himself out of position.

Outlook: Overall, he is a top-flight corner with the size and speed to start early in the NFL. He is a big, tough, athletic cover man with good speed and instincts - as well as the experience to adjust quickly to the pro game. Hall is a top-15 prospect with nice upside. Clubs like the Texans, Bills and Dolphins are interested.
