Pros: He is a tough, old-school type of player who brings a lot of savvy to the defense. He is very smart and instinctive, sees the play and flows to the ball well. He does well at stepping up into the hole and taking on the lead blocker, disengaging and making the tackle. He has a natural feel in shorter zone pass coverage and can jump routes well. Cons: Though not a top athlete who can look stiff and straight-line in his movements, he has the ability to make plays. He has marginal change-of-direction skills that probably limit him in pass coverage. He has not shown the ability to jump routes well when he is matched man-to-man. Numbers: Reportedly turned in a 4.8 40. Skinny: He needs to improve his tackling technique and is a player that has some upside. Possible late pick with the physical skill, toughness and overall intangibles to become a fine career special teams performer. Good free-agent addition.
