0-3 on front ends of 1 and 1s will kill ya in a close game.

Hopefully, that's out of the system.

Easily the toughest loss of the season so far.  Let's hope this team can get its act together for the BT Tourney and beyond.  They have to be disappointed in this finish, but need to put it in the rear view mirror.

Bummer!

Epic choke job?  Really?  There are far bigger choke jobs than losing when up by 4 with over a minute left.  And our "epic choke job" involved us missing 2 shots from inside 3 feet at the end

the foul shooting killed us...

just curious, if Jordan Morgan's tip in falls and we win, are you talking about how awesomely heroic our effort was?

Because it would've been the exact same thing on the court except the last shot falls instead of rimming out.  I'm with Brad Stevens, can't figure out why people's emotions and thoughts on a game swing so drastically on a bounce here or there in the last minute.  We outplayed Indiana for 39.5 minutes and just didn't finish.

Far more painful to lose a game in the tourney like that than a regular season game.

Been a rough season for the fans, blow out to MSU and another blown lead and losing to winless PSU.  A good team that prob played to its ability.

epic in so far as the Big Ten Title was on the line.  And yes, we at Michigan take the Big Ten Title seriously.  Epic in so far as we were at home, where we had been somethiing like 32-1 over the past two seasons.  Epic in that it was the final game of the regular season and would have provided much needed momentum for a tourney run.  Epic in so far as we are most likely losing most a lot of our scoring to next year's NBA draft.  Epic in that it was Trey's final home game, and maybe the final home game for THJ.  It was bigger than big -- it was an epic meltdown where all we had to do to beat the nuimber two team in the country was hit some free throws or hit a put back.  Epic in that you hope there are no lingering effects on psyche after such an important loss.  If you think this was just another regular season game than you are naive.

was the moment huge?  Sure, but it wasn't some world record comeback by Indiana.  It was a hard fought close game the entire way.  We missed 2 front ends of 1 and 1s that probably would've clinched it.  It happens.  75% shooters will miss the front end 25% of the time.

Would've been nice to win, but in the end we were inches away from a 2nd consecutive big ten title, but it wasn't meant to be.  Oh well.

Considering where this hoops program was 5 years ago, I'll take agonizing over a woulda coulda shoulda conference title any day of the week.

Let's make up for it and win a national title like they did in 1989 as a 3 seed.

As agonizing as that finish was, it will mean nothing in terms of UM's NCAA chances.  UM has proven all year and proved yesterday they can play with and beat anybody.

Indiana was the best team in the conference (talent and experience), but they also got some great fortune to have Appling, Hardaway and Burke (all good FT shooters) miss front ends in the last minute of their games with IU.

Let me spell this out plainly and slowly ...

You asked: Was the moment huge.  And you then answered: Yes.  So, by all accounts it was epic.

See, epic means this: impressively great.  Yesterday was a lost opportunity to do something inpressively great -- win a share of the Big Ten Regular Season Title.  We haven't won too many of those the past 20 years.

So, we agree it was epic.

Choke Job figuratively means to turn a virtual win into a loss.  Up by 5 with 52 seconds left to play, at home with the season on the line, miss the front end of 2 1-and1s by your premiere players, and then lose the game.  That, sir, is a choke job.  Choke jobs do happen, as you say.

Put them together, and you get an epic choke job.  In the end, it is just another regular season, but it could have been a special, or rather epic, regular season.  Sigh.

Now, do I wish we would have won?  Of course I do.  Will you allow me to call a rose a rose?  That's your call.  But, really, calling it dumb just reflects poorly on you.

Beilein agrees with me.  If you watched the game, and i'm sure you did....you noticed UM was getting pwned on the boards, not blocking out, etc.  That's probably 16pts at least.

Oh I agree ... but even with that, they could have, and should have won if they just would have made the stinkin' free throws.

maybe.  the wisconsin game was in the bank as well, in regulation.
