Yah, and he's also on the USA roster for the World Juniors.  But IIRC, Rutledge and Racine had already committed when Gillies came into play, and of course "we never have more than one goalie on scholarship."

Which I've been thinking about recently - since the goalie in hockey is generally recognized to be the single most important position in any team sport, it seems, frankly, stupid that you wouldn't have 2 scholarship goalies on the roster - so you have 1 more walkon on the 4th line, so what?.  But, maybe the reality is that a goalie elite enough to earn a D1 scholarship doesn't want to go to a school that has an equally good goalie on the roster.
