kids deserved a weekend like this. Glad to see them have it. Now can they do something with it?

Not confident - this was the first time live for me - you can really see how far from mediocre the net minding is. I don't know if its completely between the ears, but there is nothing instinctive about rutledges play - he is late to react an looks completely uncomfortable and overmatched - I don't think I've ever seen some hit the middle of the crossbar from the point with no screen in front - it's unfathomable to think about what has always been and what is there right now

Yes nice to see them get a sweep and against a rival no less. Take anything they can get right now. Maybe they can gain a little confidence from this and get some fire burning in them now

On Rutledge, some nerves were to be expected...first start in over a month...a handful of starts all year...lots of pressure for him to perform to keep playing.  He clearly had issues with bouncing pucks, and did not use his stick on three different goals where a poke of the stick would have worked wonders.  Those things can be coached up.

I'm happy he played in goal both nights...we need to see if he can improve and gain confidence.  The team certainly played well in front of him.

I'm sure it'll be a confidence builder to finally sweep someone, but I'd hate to say it - neither team looked good to me this weekend. There were times when MSU played ok, but to me it was more Michigan not playing well. There were times Michigan played well, but I felt like it was more because we stink.

I wouldn't be shocked if we don't get another win the rest of the year with the way things have been going.

I'd be saying the same thing if MSU split or swept Michigan. I'm just not sure we saw good hockey this weekend.

Agree on the talent levels, Friday's game was lacking some polished talent that could finish plays. A lot of sloppy play in front of the nets.

I got to see the first game and agree that was not very good hockey. After the 1st period of the first game I commented on a post and said it just looked like drop in hockey, where players just went through the emotions and didn't play very well.  Kind of hard to watch those two programs playing such poor hockey.
