Don't know how much ice time this young man saw, but this sounds ugly.  Pardon the length of the post.

SOUTH BEND -- Police arrested a man early Monday morning after a female manager at Brothers Bar and Grill reported a patron attacked her when she tried to kick him out of the bar.

Jared Beers, 22, of Mishawaka, was booked in the St. Joseph County Jail on suspicion of battery, trespass, resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

``Beers is a member of the Notre Dame hockey team, the university confirmed Monday.

South Bend police said the bar manager, 35, told officers she told Beers to leave after he tried to take beer from the tables of other patrons of the bar on Eddy Street.

The woman said Beers refused to leave, and punched her in the face, police said.

She told officers he then stepped on her head, face and neck when she fell to the ground, according to a police report.

She said he then pulled her ponytail, police said.

Witnesses said Beers ran away when they called police.

The alleged incident occurred just before midnight Sunday, according to the police report.

Police said in the scuffle, Beers left his wallet in the bar, so officers called him to tell him they located his wallet.

Beers was arrested when he came to the station around 2:15 a.m. to retrieve his wallet, police said.

The report did not specify if the woman was treated at a hospital, but it said she reported pain to her head and neck.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office has not formally filed charges.

According to the Notre Dame hockey roster, Beers is a junior defenseman and finance major.

Brothers is a cool bar in South Bend.  I was in South Bend for a wedding this past August, and we killed time between the ceremony and the reception at Brothers.  Also went there to eat before the game in South Bend this past September.

Sounds like Sunday Funday got a little out of hand...

That whole area just got developed in the last 18 months or so.  Considerably improved/increased the options in SB.
