Scored first (in the first period), got a 2-goal lead fairly quickly, and then responded each time LSSU stated to mount a comeback. What's frustrating is to think of the number of games like this that we've managed to fritter away this season.

second night in a row?
They did answer every time Lake State scored a goal tonight to keep the crowd out of things and to keep that 2 goal lead. At least one really soft goal, maybe another so goaltending is still an issue, but for tonight at least they scored goals. They really did keep the pressure on all night long.
Wish we had some replay to review that penalty shot. Said Chiasson had covered the puck in the crease with his glove, maybe he did, but without the replay who knows - it is the gong show after all !
Every game is huge right now, but man-o-man if they could string two games together this weekend and finally sweep a weekend, on the road even, that would be gigantor type huge. Still gonna need to win the CCHA tournament, but getting some confidence and momentum going would be just terrific.

The goaltending issue is what it is. The important thing is the team didn't crumble over giving up the goals like they have all season. They responded and kept the lead all night. If this was a month ago, we probably lose last night's game 6-4, so that's a big step in the right direction they took last night. Now here's hoping they can make another big step and finish off a weekend series for the first time this season.
BTW, video of the Chiasson puck grab is up on MGoBlue.com's highlights from last night's game. It's at the 2:03 mark. Rebound shot had Janny beat and Chiasson dove across the crease to prevent the goal.

They need to generate some momentum some time, if they plan on making a run. Let's hope last nights game was the start of it and we win tonight and maybe get on a little role and build some confidence
