Miami right now is the only CCHA that is guaranteed a spot in the tournament.
Notre Dame will probably get there with another win or two - but they sit on the bubble right now. Western is squarely on the bubble, though on the right side at the moment.
If ND, MSU, and UM advance, a lot of teams are going to be cheering for Notre Dame next weekend. If that happens, only 1 of the 4 teams at the Joe will be pretty much in the tournament (The OSU/FSU winner - regardless of which team wins - would be out of the tournament unless they win the title).
The final year of the CCHA tournament could really throw a wrench in the NCAA process.
But with that said, I think I'll take Miami 6 MSU 0 tonight.

Really hoping for a Michigan versus Michigan State final at the Joe with an unexpected tourney berth on the line. That would be so epic I just might have to attend.

It would be appropriate considering they've been the CCHA two best teams. And ironic considering they were so bad this year. But the CCHA would love it and the Joe would love it -- you'd have a packed house Sunday night. If somehow Michigan, MSU and ND make the semifinals next weekend, that would be a best-case scenario. |
Seems like if UM wins tonight, we become a TUC- how does that change things? ND will get a few more wins to use, but it seems to be bad for western, or at least it would change things.
