17-18-3 which means they are not yet a TUC, but the twitter verse is saying they are a TUC now. I looked at the box score and according to that they had 17 wins going into tonight, but I only counted 16 going into tonight. Where did I lose a game?
I've counted and triple counted and I don't see that Michigan is a TUC, still need another win to get there.

It's a function of the RPI formula. All you need to do is have a RPI rating of .5000 or better.
Michigan's RPI rating right now is .5029.
The formula weights:
The Ratings Percentage Index is one tool used to select teams for the
national collegiate ice hockey tournament. Factors involved are 1) the
team's winning percentage; 2) the average winning percentage of the
team's opponents; and 3) the average winning percentage of the team's
opponents' opponents. These factors are multiplied by 25%, 21%, and 54%
the RPI thing, then yes they are a TUC, yea RPI :) Still I think that's the first time I've seen them in the top 32 listing of the Pairwise all year, not that I have actually looked all that much. Imagine my surprise when I did look last week for the first time and saw Quinnipiac sitting at #1 !
