1. I assume the third-place game has been eliminated, correct? - I don't see any reference to it on the CCHA website.

2.    Historically the NCAA Selection Show has been on Sunday morning, but since the CCHA (and maybe other leagues) has its conference championship game on Sunday afternoon, when will the NCAA Selection Show be?

3. I have seen 2 references, including in Michael's article today, that if Michigan wins the CCHA tourney it will play in the Grand Rapids Regional. How do we know that? - Is Michigan the host school?

1. Consolation eliminated due to moving championship to Sunday afternoon.

2. Sunday night, 9ET/8CT on ESPNU

3. Michigan is host to the Grand Rapids regional.  If they win the CCHA, would automatically be the #4 seed there, likely against Minnesota.   Could be a very interesting bracket with teams like NoDak and Notre Dame in the mix.

Thanks for filling those answers in so quickly. On No. 3, I know everything on paper says that Michigan is the fourth seed if it gets in, but I have a hard time believing the NCAA committee would screw a one seed like that so badly. Michigan would be 9-0-1 in its last 10, tons of momentum, playing in front of a wound-up crowd. If I was Minnesota I'd be seething if that predicament unfolded.

that including Michigan (although I guess Denver and SCSU and maybe NoDak were the bigger whiners), but yes it will definitely be interesting to see how the brackets fall out.  If Michigan wins they would likely be the last 4 seed in the tournament meaning they should get the overall number one, which is Quinnipiac (that was weird just typing that).  However, since they are hosting the GR regional they will automatically go there, throwing the brackets for a loop.

If they didn't get the 4 seed, they would have to move them up to a 3, but I also find that somewhat hard to believe given how they got there, if they get there (we still have to get through next weekend, and that's not a given).  If they pushed them up to a 3, then the 2 seed will the PO'd, leave them at a 4 and Minnesota is going to be ticked (especially if they were to lose).  If Michigan should get to the NCAA tournament I don't envy the NCAA selection committee because no matter what they do, somebody is going to be upset in how things have fallen out in that regional.

Into the top 12 - then Michigan will be the 4 seed.

It should be interesting, no doubt. The only scenario I could see unfolding where Michigan is not the No. 4 is if say Western Michigan is the No. 15 overall seed. Maybe they are the No. 4 seed in the West opposite Minnesota, and Michigan is the three seed there (if it wins of course). Yes, that would screw a team that should be a three seed, but if you finish No. 12, it's not like you're not barely on the cusp of being a four-seed to begin with.

in the Pairwise in just two games?

I think not.  I've run a few "Pairwise Predictor" scenarios with Michigan winning the CCHA and we didn't get into the top 16 of the Pairwise.  Further, of the teams still alive in their league tourneys, all are ranked ahead of us in the PWR except for 3 of the teams in the Atlantic Hockey tourney (the 4th, Niagara, is in the top 16).  So if a team other than Niagara won the Atlantic Hockey tourney and Michigan won the CCHA, I think Michigan would be the "15th seed" (of 16) for the NCAA tourney.
