I seem to recall some news that Rikki does not want to continue to play us anymore- is that true or just rumors?  Or has Red made any comments about it?

I know the red seaguls will continue to play OSU, but it seems as if, like Notre Dame, they are turning their back on us.

True or not?

Are you sure it's their choice and not ours? I seem to remember Red making some comment to the effect that "We're not going to be in a hurry to continue these so-called rivalries", referencing Miami and ND.

Someone over at USCHO was saying we have an agreement with Tech (and one of the other Michigan CCHA schools--maybe Ferris?) to play series at Yost, on the road, then at Yost over the next 3 years.

I seem to think it was theirs.  ND is them, for sure- the change to the ACC, dropping us from the future schedule, etc.

But not sure what drove the Miami change.

Red wants to make smart decisions based on logistics and such so I could very easily see Michigan playing Western, Ferris and Bowling Green because they're all within a good driving distance. Miami is a little bit further away so we'll have to see about that. Also, Red wants to schedule some of the premier schools in the country for home-and-homes or two this year at Yost, two at their place the following year so that may limit the chance to have Miami in there.

Well, the Miami folk seem to think that Red offered to play Miami only at Yost, so they declined.

No real point in getting in an argument over it with them.  After Saturday, it's over, unless we meet in the ncaa tournament some time.

They do seem like one of those teams that get offended that we don't give them any more 'respect'- whatever that means.  They don't seem to understand that playing Miami is like playing Lake State or Western or Ferris- good, bad, whatever- it's a game against an opponent.  It's not State. And it's not the rest of the Big10.  And since we saw you every year, it's not Boston.  Just a game against another CCHA team.

oh, well- got to get ready for the b1g next year.

(and Miami on Saturday.... :) )
