V-Cast: This should've been a blowout

EAST LANSING - Michigan State stayed within a game of Big Ten leading Ohio State thanks to a 64-54 win over in-state rival Michigan at the Breslin Center on Sunday.

Spartan senior Draymond Green was a catalyst for the Michigan State victory. The Spartan captain led the team in scoring and rebounding with 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 16 boards in the victory.

The Spartans dominated their in-state rival on the glass with a 40-16 rebounding advantage.

Michigan State received inspired performances from several players including Keith Appling, who led the Spartan defensive effort against Trey Burke. Senior Brandon Wood played his best game to date on defense and Branden Dawson contributed strong defense in the first half when matched up against Tim Hardaway Jr., who was held to 1-of-10 shooting in 32 minutes.
