Campbell discusses most recent visit
Three-star safety Ibraheim Campbell made an official visit over the weekend but it wasn't to Boston College. It may, however, be just as important to the Eagles, as one of their main competitors for Campbell had a chance to roll out the red carpet for the defensive back.
Northwestern hosted Campbell for their home game against Big Ten power Penn State. While they ended up falling by a score of 34-13, the Wildcats did keep it close for a half, heading into intermission with a 13-10 edge.
"It was a good game," Campbell recalled. "I enjoyed the game. They lost their quarterback and that hurt them a lot, but I enjoyed it. The school was also a positive. I met with one of their professors and he told me about their pre-med program. I enjoyed that, too."
Campbell said he wants to try to schedule his last official visit to Stanford. With a final list of Stanford, Northwestern and Boston College, it's obvious that academics are very important to Campbell.
"It's pretty much just those three," he confirmed. "I'm trying to schedule an official to Stanford and then I'll plan on making my decision shortly after that. I'm trying to make (the official) right after the season. We've got two games left, and we don't have playoffs because we're in a private school league. All we have are regular season games."
The 5-foot-11, 188-pound prospect said the three schools still on his list are even at this point.
On the year Philadelphia (Pa.) Chestnut Hill Academy is 8-0. Their last couple of games have been blowouts, but Campbell expects that the last two will be tougher.
This year Campbell has carried the ball 156 times for 1,466 yards and 24 touchdowns. On defense he has recorded three interceptions.
