G.L. Gridiron: Hill, Gholston have teams rolling in playoffs

DETROIT, Mich. - staffer Rico Beard had a busy schedule during Week 1 of the MHSAA football playoffs. He dropped in on a pair of games featuring future Spartans, beginning with a thrilling overtime clash between Nick Hill's Chelsea ballclub which advanced to this weekend's district championship game with an overtime win over powerhouse Carleton Airport.

Airport has made a number of long playoff runs in recent years and last weekend against Chelsea it appeared that the Jets were starting another. Chelsea fell behind 21-7 in the game before Hill and his teammates got their ground game going and came back strong in the second half.
