Chippewas may be out of the mix for Ohio quarterback

Recruiting has really started to pickup for Massillon (OH) quarterback Robert Partridge now that his senior season is in the books.

"Our season went really well," said Partridge. "We made it to the state semi-finals before we lost to Glenville. We really came together as a team and accomplished some of our goals we had placed upon ourselves."

Partridge threw for over 3,000 yards as a senior and has offers from Central Michigan, Marshall, Kent State, Miami (OH), Toledo and Ohio. And more and more schools are starting to take notice of the three star prospect who stands 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds. East Carolina, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Kansas are just a few of the programs that have been carefully evaluating him and may be close to offering.

The Chippewas came into the picture during the summer and Partridge has been impressed with the overall program at CMU.

"CMU came into the picture last June when I was at their camp," said Partridge. "They told me I was one of their top guys and were real impressed with me. CMU is a great football program, they have a great quarterback in Dan LeFevour and they are one of, if not the, top programs in the MAC. "

Despite what impressions CMU has made on the talented quarterback who reports a 4.4 forty, the Chippewas are currently on the outside looking in with him.

"I would say my top five, in no particular order, would be Miami (OH), Ohio, East Carolina, Louisville and Cincinnati."

Partridge has not yet planned any of his official visits, but says he will be doing so in the near future. In the meantime, schools can take solace in knowing that he is looking for a quality program to play at in college.

"To me, the campus lifestyle is real important. Then I would say program prestige and coaches. Coaches are another factor that I feel is important."
