UCLA Plows Aggies
The UCLA Bruins ended their five game losing streak by blasting the helpless New Mexico State Aggies 100 to 68 in a game the Bruins dominated start to finish. UCLA outshot, out rebounded and completely outplayed New Mexico State.
The Bruins shot 56.1 percent for the game to the Aggies' 38.9 percent. UCLA out rebounded them 40 to 31, got 19 assists to their 17, had 11 turnovers to their 20, got six blocks to their two and grabbed 10 steals to their two. UCLA started fast and had a 47 to 26 lead at the half while shooting 61 percent from the floor. They increased their lead to 39 points twice with around ten minutes to go before winning by the final margin of 32 points.
Malcolm Lee led all UCLA players with 20 points, shooting 7 for 8 and 2 for 3 from the three point line and tied Reeves Nelson getting eight rebounds. Nelson finished with 16 points, shooting 6 for 7 despite not starting for his best game of the young season so far. Michael Roll scored 14 points as did Tyler Honeycutt who shot 4 for 6, Jerime Anderson got 13 points, Nikola Dragovic got 9, Abdul-Hamid Mustafa scored eight points, shooting 4 for 5. Honeycutt also grabbed seven boards and played very well. J'mison Morgan got four points, and Brendon Lane scored two points.
