Bowl talk with Neuheisel

Last week UCLA Bruin head coach, Rick Neuheisel held teleconference with the media to once again talk about the EagleBank Bowl. It is apparent that Neuheisel has great respect for Temple Coach Al Golden has been able to get done in Philadelphia with the Owl program. The excitement of getting to play in a bowl game clear to see by Coach Neuheisel and his team.

Neuheisel: "We're thrilled to be invited and very much looking forward to the contest. We are very eager to get back there and very eager to play what we hope will be an entertaining ball game. I think these are two teams very hungry to get into this contest."

How this year fits progression?

Neuheisel: "At the outset of the season, I was asked what our goals were, what we would like to happen. Obviously at UCLA, we want to play for a conference championship. But we wanted to keep the momentum and keep heading toward where we wanted to go, so it was important to make postseason. We're proud we got here. We had a good November, though we would have liked to have beaten our rival, but we're feeling like we're on the right track.

"Unfortunately, we had to let a couple things happen and materialize before we could be invited, but the kids are excited to come back and play one more time."
