UCLA goes to Washington

The UCLA Bruins (7-6, 12-13) will meet the Washington Huskies (7-7, 17-9) on Saturday evening at 6:00 in Seattle. The Bruins will attempt to sweep the Huskies this year and try to win in Seattle for the first time since 2004. UCLA had an incredible shooting night Thursday in Pullman in their 71-51 rout of WSU while the Huskies were beaten at home by USC, 67-64.

The Huskies this year have been a disappointment much to the same level that the Bruins have. Coach Lorenzo Romar's team was the co-favorite, along with Cal, to win the conference. Many had projected them as a top 10 to top 15 team during the preseason. However, things did not work out according to plan.

The Huskies sorely miss Jon Brockman and now are strictly a perimeter oriented team. They are shooting only about 42 percent for the year overall and are only about 29 percent from the three point line. Also, defensively there have been some issues as the Huskies are eighth in the conference in scoring defense.
