Bruins fall short
UCLA lost its last regular season home court game by two points, 70 to 68, to the Oregon Ducks. The Bruins hit the first shot, a 3-pointer by Mustafa Abdul-Hamid, then Oregon hit a 2 and a three to take a two point lead. UCLA's Michael Roll hit a three and a free throw to make a four point play and give UCLA a two point lead, 7 to 5. Oregon then hit a 3 and two , two's, and took a six point lead at the 14:11 mark of the first half.
UCLA never led again as the Ducks upped their lead to 14 points with 1:20 left in the half before the Bruins finished the half hitting their last two shots to bring Oregon's lead down to ten.
Tajuan Porter, coming into the game shooting 32 percent from the floor, scored 11 of Oregon's first 13 points and got 29 points for the game as he consistently beat Jerime Anderson's defense. The Ducks hit 7 of their 10 three pointers while UCLA, taking way too many 3s, only hit 4 for 14. Roll got 14 in the half and Malcolm Lee, playing the off guard again, got 10. Porter finished the first half with 16 points. The Ducks shot 45.5 percent from the floor and UCLA shot 50 percent.
