Hawkeyes offer Florida QB

As a junior, quarterback Jake Rudock completed 128 of 197 passes for 1,945 yards and 34 touchdowns with only five interceptions. That kind of production has helped the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Rudock, who plays for football powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, get some early recruiting attention. Recently, the Iowa Hawkeyes became the third school to offer a scholarship to the Florida native.

Iowa joins Wisconsin and Memphis on Rudock's current list of offers. Shortly after receiving word from the Hawkeyes, the quarterback got in touch with head coach Kirk Ferentz, whose team was just in South Florida in January to play in the Orange Bowl.

Rudock is currently in the playoffs for baseball at St. Thomas Aquinas and then will join the football team for spring practice later this month. After that, he hopes to get out and see some of the schools recruiting him sometime this summer, including a stop in Iowa City.
