2012 five-star likes Vols

Members of the Class of 2012 can't sign for nearly 18 more months, but Tennessee is planning ahead in an effort to lay a solid foundation with some elite rising juniors. One of those prospects who figures into those plans is Pearl, Miss. forward Tymond Howard, rivals.com's No. 15 ranked overall player in the Class of 2012 and a primary Tennessee target.

Howard (6-foot-5, 200 pounds) spends his summers playing with the Jackson MBA hoops program which was in Indianapolis this week taking part in the adidas Invitational as the frantic July evaluation period kicked off for college coaches.

This was the second chance the Tennessee staff has had in recent weeks to see Howard up-close and personal. He was in Knoxville with his high school squad in June to take part in the Vols' team camp, and was glad he made the trip.

Rivals.com rates Howard as a five-start prospect, the No. 15 overall player in the nation and the No. 3 small forward in the Class of 2012.
