Junior in-state back opens with a huge game

Detroit Martin Luther King running back Dennis Norfleet was one of the top junior performers on the Midwest combine and camp circuit this off-season. The 5-9, 170-pound Norfleet carried over that strong play into his season opener this past weekend.

Norfleet and his Detroit King team took on state of Michigan powerhouse Birmingham Brother Rice Saturday. Brother Rice has two defensive prospects in the 2011 class already committed to Division 1 programs - linebacker Tim Hamilton (Central Michigan) and defensive end Conor Hart (Vanderbilt) - but they were unable to stop Norfleet.
