Meyer: Gators' Demps still limited

Another day has passed and Florida tailback Jeff Demps, the team's top rusher, still isn't 100 percent. Yet, Florida coach Urban Meyer said Thursday evening he expects Demps, who has a sprained left foot, to play Saturday night at No. 1-ranked Alabama.

Demps, a junior, was "limited [Thursday] still," Meyer said. "We're gonna try to practice him tomorrow more. He's still limited but he's probable for the game Saturday"

Demps, a junior from Winter Garden, Fla., leads Florida (4-0 overall, 2-0 in the Southeastern Conference) in rushing with 367 yards on 53 carries. He's also the Gators' primary kickoff returner and is tied for second on the squad with 11 receptions. Demps, the 2010 NCAA 100-meter dash champion, ranks eighth nationally with 172 all-purpose yards per game.
