4* DE yet to narrow list

Although he says he hasn't heard a lot from Oregon lately, Ishaq Williams clearly has the skills and length Coach Jerry Azzinaro is looking for as he continue to re-stock his defensive line. The 6' 5", 225lb. Williams hails from Brooklyn, NY and says he's got a list right now that's about a dozen teams long including Penn. St., Notre Dame, Miami, USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Maryland, and Syracuse.

Williams is clearly one of the elite defensive players nationally. The number one rated player in the state of New York, he's also a Rivals 100 member, and the 4th rated defensive end in the country.

He runs like a linebacker and he could wind up there in a hybrid spot at the next level, but as his frame fills out he's more likely to find his home at defensive end where he has the speed to prevent backs from getting to the corner, the size to disrupt passing lanes in the same manner the current Duck Brandon Bair does, and the strength to hold his own up the middle.

"I think one of the things I do well is that I try to play to the whistle and never give up on anything," said Williams, "The coaches also say I have a nose for the ball so I guess that's a strength as well." A US Army All-Star section, Williams says he hasn't narrowed his list much at all so far. "I do want to narrow my list a bit though and then take all my official visits before the Army game. Then I'll announce where I'm going to go at the game itself," noted Williams.
