Westerkamp talks about Iowa offer
Shortly after attending Iowa's junior day, Illinois wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp picked up a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Westerkamp found out about the offer after head coach Kirk Ferentz and lead recruiter Lester Erb stopped by Montini Catholic High School this week.
"Coach Ferentz and Coach Erb were at my school yesterday and told my head coach they were offering me," said Westerkamp. "I am very excited about the offer. I got a chance to see the campus and the facilities on Sunday at the junior day and I was really impressed. Iowa has a great program."
As a junior, Westerkamp put up huge numbers in leading Montini to their second consecutive state championship. The Class of 2012 prospect earned all-state honors after finishing with 89 catches for 1,631 yards and 23 touchdowns, which impressed a number of people including the Iowa coaching staff obviously.
