Walsh enjoys official visit

Future Hawkeye Jordan Walsh has been to Iowa City several times before, but this past weekend's official visit gave him an even deeper look into how things will be for him next year at the University of Iowa. Walsh talks about the experience, meeting the other recruits, and much more.

Q: How did the official visit go this weekend?

WALSH: It was really fun. I got to meet a lot of the players, talk to the coaches some more, and see all of the campus. It was good.

Q: Who was your host?

WALSH: Adam Gettis.

Q: Was that a good match for you since he's a guard from the Chicago area also?

WALSH: Yeah, it was really cool. We talked a lot. He's a really cool guy and a good leader. I look up to him. Coming from the Chicago area, he talked to me a lot about what goes on at Iowa, working with Coach Morgan, Coach Ferentz, and Coach Doyle, and how everything is operated there. We talked a lot about the school and just his experiences there.

As a senior, the 6-foot-3, 275-pound Walsh led his Glenbard West team to a 10-2 record. In August, the four-star prospect committed to Iowa over scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, USC, UCLA, Illinois, Northwestern, Arizona, Tennessee, Nebraska, Colorado, and Boston College, among others.
