Offers rolling in for Dodson

One of the fastest rising prospects in Ohio right now is Cleveland Heights offensive tackle Kyle Dodson. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound prospect continues to see his stock soar as new offers are coming in almost daily. Recently schools such as Alabama, Iowa State, South Florida, and Vanderbilt have come into the mix with verbal offers, pushing the total to a dozen.

"I'm just really humbled by the experience of getting these offers," said Dodson. "Things are going great right now."

While Ohio State has not yet offered, Dodson still remains in close contact with the coaching staff, particularly Taver Johnson, and his offer situation could possibly change with word of a qualifying test score.

"I'm just waiting on my ACT score," Dodson explained. "I took it already and like everybody else got their scores back but for some reason I don't have my score yet. I have been trying to call people to see what is going on with that."

Dodson still plans to attend the Ohio State camp in June and is also working on making plans to take at least one unofficial visit to Columbus between now and the summer.

"I will probably be at one of the spring practices and maybe the spring game," he said.

Not only could an Ohio State offer be on the horizon but many other programs are also closely tracking Dodson and could be on the verge of extending verbal offers sooner rather than later.

"I think Wisconsin is close to offering they just want to see my grades," Dodson explained. "I think Auburn is close to offering and I think that Florida is very close to offering. I talked to one of their coaches and they said they usually start at home (with giving out offers) and then move out to different territories so they said they are going to be late on offering Ohio (prospects)."

The recent surge in attention has led Dodson to take more of a wait and see approach to his recruitment and at the moment he is listening to all of the schools that are showing interest.

"Right now my list is just the schools that have offered me," he explained. "I want to make sure I get all of the offers that I want before I start (narrowing) my list."
