Former Michigan lineman mentoring Simmons
Since becoming Michigan's head coach, Brady Hoke has not forgotten the roots he forged in Southern California during his stint as San Diego State's head coach. The Wolverines' head man is currently pursuing several California prospect in the 2012 class, including Encino Crespi offensive lineman Jordan Simmons.
The 6-5, 333-pound Simmons received an offer from Michigan soon after Hoke and his staff completed their 2011 recruiting class. He was able to share the news of that offer with a former Wolverine who he knows well.
