Brooks considers other Pac-12 options
Julian Brooks recently took a visit to Arizona State and it got the Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon wide receiver thinking about his commitment to Arizona and his possible future elsewhere.
. I liked it a lot. It wasn't what I expected because a lot of people say it's not a great school or it's easy to get in to or a degree from there doesn't mean anything but they're ranked really high in what I want to do.
"It meant a lot to me to go there. The education plus they don't have any safeties. After next year it's basically me and a junior if I go there."
Brooks, who committed to Arizona in late August, said the Wildcats are still under consideration but he wants to see who they hire before he makes any further decisions. Since things are in flux with Arizona's program, Brooks said he doesn't want to make any major moves.
"I'm just kind of weighing out all options," Brooks said. "I'm going to take some visits to Arizona and Colorado and maybe a few other schools.
"I don't completely rule out Arizona. I would like to see who they hire. I've been given a little bit of an idea but not much."
Brooks said he always had his eye on Arizona State and now that he's visited the Sun Devils will get an even closer inspection. His visit convinced him things would probably work out well there although he still wants to give Arizona a chance with its coaching search.
"It always was a serious contender," Brooks said of ASU. "(Arizona and Arizona State) are both kind of similar and they both have what I want to do and they're both great schools."
