Back in it for Jenkins?

When a college coaching staff finds a prospect that has the potential to contribute right away, they will rarely give up in pursuing his signature.

Such is the case with Harris County defensive end/outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins.

The 6-foot-3 245 pound Georgia target made his official visit to Athens to see the Bulldogs route Auburn 45-7.

The visit made quite an impression on, not just Jenkins, but his entire family.

"It was an eye-opening visit for us really," said Jenkins' father, RJ Jenkins as Jordan was unavailable for comment.

He added his son was impressed with Georgia's explosive first half in Saturday's 45-7 win.

"He was really into the game in the first half, but in the second half, things got out of hand and he lost a little interest," Jenkins said.

While Jenkins may have lost interest in the second half of the game, the Georgia coaches made it clear that they haven't lost any interest in him.

One of the most impressive part of the visits came from a familiar source.

"We were very impressed, as always, with Coach [Todd] Grantham," said Jenkins. "We also saw some things on the depth chart that we really liked."

Jenkins has said before that Florida and Alabama are his top two, but his father doesn't think it is just a two-team race.

"This visit gave us plenty to think about. I don't think it is a two-team race," he said.

The Peach State stud will take his fifth and final official visit to Florida in two weeks when they take on Florida State, and his father indicated that, after that visit, some decisions would need to be made.

"After the Florida visit in a couple of weeks, we will need to sit down as a family and figure out what is the best fit for Jordan," said Jenkins.

Some had considered the Bulldogs dead and buried in the race for the 4th ranked prospect in the State of Georgia by UGASports.com, but the Georgia staff has put themselves in contention for Jenkins' signature with this visit.
