Bulldogs steal one

STARKVILLE, Miss., - Mississippi State's Dee Bost went from potential goat to hero in 17 seconds Thursday night.

With the Bulldogs trailing Tennessee by two with 19-seconds to go, Bost turned the ball over giving the Volunteers a chance to tie or go up with the final shot.

Coming out of a timeout though, Bost came up with a crucial steal which led to a fastbreak dunk the other way to seal a 62-58 victory for the 20th ranked Bulldogs.

"I was trying to put as much pressure as I could in those final seconds," Bost said. "I knew (Trae Golden) was going to take the shot. I was able to make the play. It was frustrating in those final seconds, but I can carry it over to the next game and stay positive. "

The win evened MSU's conference record at 1-1 in their first SEC home outing and improved to 14-3 overall on the year.

"Dee has been struggling on offense lately but you can never fault his effort," said MSU head coach Rick Stansbury. "I think late in the game his effort made a huge play for us."
