Junior TE Dalton Shultz is seeing a lot interest
Starting TE for BYU is Austin Holt out of Bingham High in South Jordan, Utah. When Holt was coming out of high school he had offers from Oregon, Wisconsin, Washington, Utah, UCLA and Stanford. Ranked as one of the top tight ends in the nation he ended up choosing BYU. A few years later and Bingham is producing another TE that is being recruited by top schools.
Dalton Schultz is a 6'5 225 junior tight end with a 3.9 GPA. Already he holds offers from Cal, Utah, Colorado and BYU, but is also getting heavily recruited by Stanford, Oklahoma, Hawaii and Oregon. Schultz who also plays basketball for Bingham has max squat of 335 and max bench of 225 lbs.
A few months back Coach Peck took an all star team to represent Utah at the NLA 7 on 7 camp in Las Vegas, NV. With around 40 teams from all over the western states, Schultz brought home the trophy of Most Outstanding Tight End.
BYU who has had a long tradition of successful tight ends would like to continue that with Schultz. He shared his thoughts on BYU. "I like the tradition at BYU. I know they have a lot of tradition, I know they have a tradition of excellence there and how they put together a football team each year that does great."
He also knows several players on the team as several players came from Bingham. "I know a lot of people who go there and they all say they love it. And the coaches there are really something else. There some of the most complimentary coaches I've met."
This will be a tough recruiting battle for all coaches as he still has two more years of high school before he makes his decision and him saying that he has no preference in location. As for right now he has Stanford, Oregon, Utah and BYU as his top choices.
