Vols keeping tabs on JUCO wideout
Tennessee continues to look for a junior college wide receiver and a new name emerging for the Vols is Pierce Community College wideout Jaelen Strong. Strong, originally from Philadelphia, Pa., before moving to California this summer to play junior college football was able to get in touch with Tennessee coach John Palermo through friend and current running back recruit David Williams.
Once in touch with Palermo, there was mutual interest both from Tennessee and from Strong in the Vols.
"Basically he said they are going to keep in touch and try to get out to a game and watch me play," Strong said.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound receiver graduated high school in 2011 and didn't enroll anywhere last year after only receiving lower tier offers out of high school because of grades. But, after getting in touch with the Pierce staff he decided to head West.
