Baltimore (Md.) Maryland defensive tackle Henry Poggi was absolutely unstoppable in the trenches, making 10 tackles, including four for loss and one sack, to pace a Gilman squad that is now a game away from qualifying for the state playoffs.
Pickerington (Ohio) North tight end Jake Butt, 117 receiving yards, and Alliance (Ohio) Marlington safety Dymonte Thomas, 149 rushing yards and two scores, also had huge games.

Charlton has amassed 73 tackles, including 16 for loss and six sacks

Gareon Conley: Massillon (7-1) absolutely destroyed Pauline Johnson (Ont.) 71-12, and Conley registered two pass break ups
Conley has totaled 655 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 32 catches (20.5 yards per reception), and has added 14 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack, and returned an interception for a score this season
The Tigers entertain Akron St. Vincent/St. Mary Oct. 19.
Ross Douglas: Douglass scampered for 88 yards on only four carries (22.0 yards per carry) in Avon's (7-1) 49-20 victory over Vermillion
This year, Ross has rushed for 968 yards and seven scores
The Eagles make the trek to Rocky River Oct. 19.
Jaron Dukes: Dukes caught only one ball for 38 yards, but Marion-Franklin (7-1) blew out West 53-14
Dukes has tallied 18 catches for 378 yards (21.0 yards per carry) and six touchdowns in 2012
The Red Devils are on the road at Eastmoor Academy Oct. 19.
Chris Fox: Ponderosa (7-0) was useless on offense, managing only a field goal in a 3-0 victory over Falcon
Ponderosa plays at home against Pine Creek Oct. 19.
Ben Gedeon: Gedeon rushed for 110 yards on 14 carries (7.9 yards per carry) and a touchdown, and also chimed in for 11 tackles, including two for loss, for a menacing Hudson (7-1) team that further proved itself a title contender in toying with Mayfield 35-13
The four-star prospect has tallied 72 tackles, including six for loss and one sack, and recovered two fumbles this season
The Explorers return to action against Elyria Oct. 19.
Khalid Hill: Hill had a 12-yard reception, and East English Village (7-1) outlasted Detroit Cody 37-32
East English faces a streaking Detroit King on the road Oct. 19.
Maurice Hurst Jr.: Hurst Jr. was one of the only bright spots for a Xaverian Brothers (1-6) defense in a 24-7 loss to Everett, making 10 stops, including two tackles for loss and a deflection
Hurst has registered 29 tackles, including 13 tackles for loss and eight sacks, and forced two fumbles this season
The Hawks hope to end their five-game losing streak this week when they clash with Bridgewater-Raynham on the road.
Patrick Kugler: North Allegheny (7-0) rushed for 263 yards and three touchdowns, and Kugler contributed three tackles in a 28-0 shutout of Central Catholic
The Grey Hounds travel to Shaler Area Oct. 19.
Jourdan Lewis: Lewis had a 95-yard touchdown catch called back because of a penalty, but the play proved inconsequential for a Cass Tech (6-2) squad that was surprisingly crushed 44-13 by Detroit King
Lewis has caught three touchdown catches, scored three times on special teams, has thrown a touchdown pass, and intercepted a pass this year ... The Technicians conclude their regular season at U-D Jesuit Oct. 19.
Mike McCray: McCray was in on 10 tackles, and caught four passes for 50 yards (12.5 yards per reception) to help Trotwood-Madison (6-2) roll over Troy 42-14
McCray has accrued 56 tackles and forced a fumble this year
The Rams face-off against Sidney Oct. 19.
Shane Morris: Despite being hospitalized with mono earlier in the year, Morris returned last weekend to complete 17 of 22 passes (77.3 percent) for 163 yards and a score for Warren De La Salle (4-4), which beat U-D Jesuit 39-12
The five-star quarterback has connected on 57 of 105 passes (54.3 percent) for 627 yards and two touchdowns against two interceptions when active this year ... The Pilots host Harper Woods Chandler Park Oct. 19.

Wyatt Shallman: Shallman made five tackles and Detroit Catholic Central (5-3) neutralized a talented Orchard Lake St. Mary's offense to down the Eagles 35-13
The Shamrocks once again battle St. Mary's - this time at Ford Field for the Catholic League Championship - Oct. 20.
Deveon Smith: Smith was a wrecking ball for Howland (6-1) in a 17-10 win over McKinley, gaining 151 yards and a score on the ground
Smith has rushed for 1,174 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior
The Tigers look to invade Canfield Oct. 19.
Channing Stribling: Stribling made two tackles defensively, but nabbed three passes for 44 yards (14.7 yards per reception) and a score, and returned a punt 67 yards in Butler's (8-0) dominating 45-14 win against Providence
The Bulldogs look to remain unbeaten away from home against South Mecklenburg Oct. 19.
Scott Sypniewski: Marquette (9-0) looked unstoppable in beating Luther North 40-6
The Crusaders hope to cruise to an undefeated regular season on the road against Christian Life Oct. 19.
Dymonte Thomas: Thomas bowled his way for 149 yards on the ground and also contributed 10 tackles to help Marlington (8-0) continue its undefeated season in a 14-0 decision over Canton South
Thomas has rambled for 1,164 yards (145.5 yards per game) and 15 scores, and has made 39 tackles and picked off a pass this year
The Dukes host West Branch Oct. 19.
Logan Tuley-Tillman: Tuley-Tillman overwhelmed the Notre Dame defensive line for 11 pancake blocks, but Manual (0-8) remained winless in a 63-14 loss
The four-star recruit has stockpiled 60 pancake blocks, and recorded 38 tackles, including 12.5 for loss and 5.5 sacks this year
The Rams aim to end the season on a high note against Eureka/Roanoke-Benson Oct. 19.
Csont'e York: York caught the pigskin four times for 35 yards (8.8 yards per carry), and Chandler Park Academy (5-2) grinded out a 20-9 win over Michigan Collegiate
This season, York has caught 30 balls for 483 yards (16.1 yards per reception) for seven touchdowns

Michael Ferns (2014): Ferns spearheaded St. Clairsville's (8-0) defense in a 48-6 defeat of Buckeye Local
The linebacker made headlines on offense by voluntarily stepping out of bounds on a 52-yard run in the fourth quarter so freshman teammate Logan Thomas - who unexpectedly lost his father earlier in the week - could make the one-yard plunge into the end zone
Ferns has accumulated 52 tackles, including four for loss and two sacks in 2012
