South Carolina 33, U-M 28: Notes, quotes & observations

Call Michigan's Team 133 a beautiful loser - just don't call it a loser after a 33-28 setback to South Carolina. It dropped five games to teams with a combined 57-7 record, four of which will finish in the top 10 of the final polls (well, three, thanks to Ohio State's probation), and another when starting quarterback Denard Robinson went down with an injury at Nebraska.

Any breaks the football gods sent their way in last year's 11-2 campaign were certainly reserved for others (ahem - Notre Dame) this year, resulting in an 8-5 campaign after a 33-28 loss to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl that felt like it could have - maybe should have - been much more.
