It has been 46 days since Mississippi State last tasted victory.
Over that span the Bulldogs have dropped a dozen conference games since beginning the Southeastern Conference slate at 2-0. MSU will attempt to get back into the win column tonight traveling to Kentucky at 7 p.m. CT.
The task will not be easy as the Wildcats have won four straight in the series and seven of the last 10 outings. UK leads the overall series 88-20 and hold a 44-5 record in Lexington. Of late, the series has been tightly contested with the last eight contests being decided by nine points or less with three heading into overtime.
The Wildcats won last year in Starkville 73-64 despite trailing by 13 at halftime. Kentucky outscored the Bulldogs 45-23 in the second half. Dee Bost led State with 21 points and seven assists in that game.
The Bulldogs are 7-19 overall and 2-12 in league play. Mississippi State's 12-game SEC skid is the longest in the same season in school history.
