Recruiting Analysis: Defensive Tackle
Arizona State did a good job with improving its depth along the front line with the 2013 recruiting class. This cycle the Sun Devils are looking to replace All-American Will Sutton who is in his final year in Tempe.

Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe
Curtis has had a rollercoaster type recruitment with ASU. He went from having little interest to naming ASU a favorite and then appeared to be on the verge to committing to Arizona last month. At this time where he stands with ASU is unclear.
6-foot-4 270 pounds
New Orleans (LA.) O. Perry Walker
Dayries is a teammate of ASU commit Alex Anderson. He plays both ways like Anderson but ASU is recruiting him as a defensive tackle. He has not received much attention from the media and his offer list outside of ASU is unclear.
6-foot-3 330 pounds
Pomona (Calif.) Diamond Ranch
Delp, who has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Washington State, plans on a midseason commitment.

Scottsdale (Ariz.) C.C.
Heurtelou received little recruiting attention out of high school in Spring Valley, N.Y.. After a year in prep school didn't help his recruiting he found a home at Scottsdale C.C. and has seen a big increase in his recruitment. He has set up officials visits to Kansas State, Missouri and Tennessee.

Lamin is one of the top junior college prospects in the country, having drawn scholarship offers from Alabama (his most recent), ASU, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, and Tennessee in addition to South Carolina and numerous others.

Corona (Calif.) Centennial
Maloata, a three-star prospect, committed to USC in June but has stated that nothing is official until signing day. He also has offers from Miami, Ole Miss and Washington State. Alabama has also shown interest.

Covington (LA.) Covington
McDowell is a three-star rated prospect who ASU projects to the Tiger position. At this time it appears that McDowell is headed to an SEC program. He claims a top-3 of Arkansas, LSU and Ole Miss.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Pelon, who originally signed with Florida State out of high school, is one of the top defensive tackle recruits in the country. ASU appears to be on the outside looking in right now as Miami, Nebraska, USC and Washington appear to have the upperhand.

Fresno (Calif.) Central East
Smallwood, an USC commit, is still considering other schools and stated his top-five is USC, UCLA, Arizona State, Alabama and Miami. He is expected to visit all five schools and is close with ASU commit Manny Wilkins.
6-foot-1 270 pounds
Taua is currently ranked as the sixth best defensive tackle in the country according to Rivals.com. He claims offers from multiple BCS programs across the country. He managed to keep a somewhat low media profile thus far but UCLA is rumored to be his favorite.
