Mayfield Putting Edison Back on the Map

In spite of current Oklahoma walk-on lineman Robert Hollis' short-lived fame during an ESPN special in the fall of 2011 it's been a while since Tulsa Edison was a noteworthy part of high school football in the Sooner state.

It's been just as long since the Eagles had a recruit worthy of notoriety.

However due a coaching change and some unique talent that may be all about to change.

In the spring Edison brought in former Ft. Gibson head man and Bixby assistant D.J. Howell and it didn't take long for the coach who spent time around several division one prospects at Bixby to realize he had something special in 2015 athlete Akylen Mayfield.

Howell immediately began building his offense around the 6-foot-2, 193-pound quarterback-to-be.
