The battle for the services of 2015 cornerback Terry Godwin is heating up and the Georgia Bulldogs appear to find themselves in the thick of it.
Godwin has been a popular target as schools including "Notre Dame, North Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, North Carolina State, Wisconsin,Clemson, Ole Miss and Mississippi State have also been vying for his service.
"I've spoken toCoach (Gunter) Brewer and Coach Kap (Chris Kapilovic) at UNC, Coach (Ed) Orgeron at USC, and Coach (Frisman) Jackson from NC State," Godwin said.
Though he's had attention from both coasts, Godwin's recent visit to Athens seems to have left a powerful impression.
"I enjoyed it very much," he said. "It was a great game."
Before the game, Godwin had an opportunity to speak with head coach Mark Richt and tight ends coach John Lilly.
"He (Lilly) talks to me about more than football,"Godwin said. "He's like a father figure to me. He comes down here, and he talks to me."
Godwin went on describing his relationship with Lilly.
"We might have a two sentence conversation about football," he said. "Then he goes straight to the books, how I'm doing in school, how my family is, especially my mom...it's just...we're just like a father and son relationship."
The Bulldogs have a chance to continue impacting the 2015 star, who will also attend Saturday's game against LSU.
"Oh, most definitely," he said. "I'll be there."
