Scouting Davie County at North Davidson

LEXINGTON - With plans to see all of NC State's in-state commits and top targets already in place, we took a trip last Friday to go check out some younger in-state prospects who are generating some buzz.

We knew going into the game that Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson featured four-star junior defensive tackle Shy Tuttle and Mocksville (N.C.) Davie County boasts sophomore running back Cade Carney, as well as Duke offensive line commit Trip McNeil, a three-star senior. Davie County senior R.C. Brunstetter will walk-on at NC State next year as a long snapper and was also in the game.

The Game

Midway through the second quarter, North Davidson led 14-3. They were pretty dominant, but then pulled away in little more than a minute of game time. In 1:06, North Davidson went from putting a field goal on the board to make it a two-score game to benefitting from a running into the kicker penalty, scoring a touchdown, recovering an onsides kick and scoring another touchdown.
