News and Views: Borges talks Northwestern, Iowa

Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges looks back at the offense against Northwestern and ahead to Iowa. Here are his comments and our take on them.

News: The running game took a step forward against Northwestern with freshmen Derrick Green and De'Veon Smith running well. The offensive line also performed much better.

Borges: "It was both. We gave them a chance to go. We had several plays where we pushed the line of scrimmage very well. That's been most of our issues. We've just had trouble getting our backs started. In this game, very few times you got the ball and got clobbered. They came off combination blocks and there were some really fundamentally good-looking football plays almost through the whole game.
