Big 2016 DT camps at Iowa

Class of 2016 defensive tackle Jamahl Johnson made the drive from Minnesota down to Iowa City on Sunday to attend a one-day camp with the Hawkeyes. For the 6-foot-1, 319-pound Johnson, it marked his first visit to Iowa City where he had a chance to meet the Iowa coaches, who seemed impressed by his performance.

"It went great," said Johnson. "It was a great camp. I feel like I did way better than I came in thinking I was going to do."

"The coaches said I did really well too," he continued. "They only picked out a few kids from the camp to stay afterwards and talk with them and I was one of them, so hopefully that means something."

"They said they really like my explosiveness and my quickness for a big guy and will be keeping a really close eye on me."
