Offers pour in for Cottonwood DT

In Salt Lake City, high school football doesn't get much better than playing for the Cottonwood Colts. After a season that produced a run to the state title game and one of the top running backs in the west (Stanley Havili), the Colts don't show any signs of slowing down.

One of the early favorites for the top in-state prospect on our short list is defensive tackle Simi Fili. The Cottonwood tackle has also been on the radar of the Utah coaching staff for quite some time now, and coach Gary Andersen knows a good thing when he sees one.

For Fili, a big factor is "the defensive coach, that's what I want to go into. I want to see how many players they promoted to the NFL. I love Andersen, Utah is one of the guys up there, you know, one of the teams (I like)."

With six offers already on the table the mail doesn't appear to be slowing down at all.

"I've been getting mail from the SEC, the east side schools like Florida, Iowa, Alabama and LSU," said Fili.
