ISU one of four offers for Texas QB
Iowa State picked up a defensive prospect from Beaumont (Tex.) West Brook last year and is now high on an offensive standout from the same high school for 2007. Quarterback Joe Chaisson is up to four scholarship offers - including one from ISU - and he's getting excited about learning more about each of the schools that want him. Will he follow a high school teammate to Ames?
Chaisson's first two offers came from Iowa State and Indiana and, most recently, Tennessee and Baylor have followed suit.
"Tennessee just offered and they seem really interested," Chaisson said. "I'd been text messaging back and forth with the coach there. I want to learn more about them, but of course there is a great tradition there. I talked to the coach and he said they are offering me a scholarship.
"Baylor was more shocking because I hadn't received much from them," he added. "But my coach at high school told me about it."
The 6-foot-2, 172-pound Chaisson is maintaining a keen level of interest in Iowa State as well.
"I am pretty interested in them," said Chaisson about the Cyclones. "I am a big fan of Big 12 football so I'd be excited to play in that conference."
