Cavness follows in idols footsteps

Last week TCU fans learned that their first commitment of the 2007 class came from Fort Bend, Texas, Marshall athlete Jamarion Cavness.


While Cavness isn't a widely known name yet in recruiting circles, the Frogs did land one of the most electrifying players out of the Houston area.


Last year Cavness rushed for 636 yards on only 86 carries with 5 touchdowns en route to 1st team district honors. One element in the athlete' game is speed, something he has plenty of with a personal best time of 4.38 in the 40.


Growing up, the 5-foot-9 180 pound back knew he wanted to play college football and is happy knowing he'll be playing at the same school his idol LaDainian Tomlinson attended.


Cavness chose TCU over offers from Indiana, Iowa State, and Central Florida and is ready to close the books on his recruitment
