Stock rising for Bowling Green's Hines

Stuart Hines was not caught off guard by his first scholarship offer.


The second, on the other hand, makes him excited about what may follow.


"Things are going really good," said the Bowling Green, Ky., High School junior offensive lineman. "I've had an offer from Kentucky for a while now, but West Virginia offered me about a week or so ago.


"I kind of expected UK to offer all along, but West Virginia was a little bit of a surprise. Now it sounds like Louisville may be close to offering, and I've had a couple of coaches come to visit. Vanderbilt was down here (Monday) and Wake Forest came (Tuesday). My coach also says Michigan State is real interested in me, and something could be happening with them pretty soon. It's really exciting."


Hines projects as one of the top prospects in the Bluegrass State for 2007. He has a prototype frame for an offensive tackle - height to add significant weight and long arms - as well as exceptional footwork.
