Kentucky 'right at the top' for 4-star PF

The power forward position has been extremely elusive to Tubby Smith & Co. in recent recruiting classes, but Kentucky appears to be positioning itself well with one of the top big men in the Class of 2007.

Four-star Huntington, W.Va., banger Patrick Patterson says the Wildcats remain one of his favorites heading into the heart of the spring and summer AAU circuit.

"Oh yeah, I still like Kentucky a whole lot," Patterson said. "I hear from them on a regular basis, both coach (David) Hobbs and coach (Tubby) Smith. The last time we talked, they talked about how well I fit their style and how much they liked my aggressiveness and rebounding. They say there's a real good opportunity for a 4 guy to come in and help them.

"They're right up at the top of my list. I'm still looking at a lot of schools, mainly the ones I've visited - N.C. State, West Virginia, Marshall, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech - but Kentucky is up there high. I like their tradition and how high-tech the program and the campus is. They have some great facilities."
